Children’s Dentistry

Robina Family Dental is committed to children’s dental health and is passionate about educating your children about the importance of oral health and the ways they can protect their teeth and gums from an early age. This includes teaching them the importance of healthy eating and drinking as well as encouraging them to follow a simple routine of cleaning their teeth twice a day and daily flossing.
Regular visits to the dentist from the age of 2, or ideally six months after their baby teeth appear, are extremely important. This allows us to monitor the growth and development of your child’s teeth, and problems such as crooked or misaligned bites can be minimalised by early intervention. In addition, we can help prevent cavities through regular professional cleaning and fluoride treatments. Braces & Orthodontics in Robina is also been advised if necessary. We advise that children should start regular preventive treatment as early as 2 years old. During this visit, the dentist will check the health of the child’s teeth, oral tissues, any potential alignment issues and oro-facial developmental issues. It is also an opportunity to go over any important information for parents, such as the best toothbrushes, pastes and dental products to use to ensure your child maintains healthy teeth!
If your child comes to the dentist regularly (usually recommended every 6 months), they will feel more comfortable in the environment and have a greater understanding of oral health and the need for treatment. “This removes any fear of the dental chair, makes treatment more manageable and sets them up for a lifetime of good dental health.”
