What is this treatment?
Every day, minerals are added to and lost from a tooth’s enamel layer through two processes, demineralisation and remineralisation. Fluoride treatment is the delivery of fluoride to the teeth, to make them more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth. It repairs rather than prevents damage to the teeth, causing the mineral fluorapatite to be incorporated into the damaged tooth enamel.
